| At SuperKarts, we place particular emphasis on safety for all
our young drivers and with this in mind we have developed a training
programme to ensure safe enjoyment of karting at all ages and levels. This
page describes the steps a young karter passes through to promote efficient
karting. Once the training programme is completed, the young karter can go
onto competitive karting and perhaps become the next Jenson Button, Damen
Hill or David Coulthard; all of whom started in karting!! |

| Kart
School (The first step) - Beginners |
|
| |
| This is the first
step. Kart school is held on Saturday mornings and lasts for approximately
one hour. You are taught the basics of karting to include:- |
| |
| Safety briefing |
| Flags and what they mean |
| The basic elements of a kart |
| How to enter and exit a kart |
| Circuit driving with Marshal/Instructor leading to show the line |
| |
| The school includes
the use of all safety equipment to include race suit, crash helmet, neck
brace and gloves. At the end of the session, a certificate is presented to
show that you have passed through kart school. This allows you to go onto
step two which is Race School. |
| |
| The cost of the
session is £30.00 and it must be pre-booked as we limit the number of places
to ensure correct supervision. |
| |
| |
| |
| Nursery School & Race School (The next step) - Starter &
Intermediate |
| |
| Once Kart School has
been completed you receive a provisional Skids driving license and are able
to join EITHER Skids Race School or the Nursery School. Race School has
sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays at 4.30 and 5.30 pm (please check day and
times for each grade) whilst Nursery School is on a Wednesday at 5 p.m. Both
provide a progressive training programme through five grades with a
provisional SuperKarts license. Upon completion of Grade 1 you are issued with
a full Skids Race License which allows you to attend the Skids Kart Club and
to attend arrive and drive sessions. The programme consists of:- |
| |
| Nursery Grading - For the more nervous driver to get used to the
karts and circuit prior to more advanced training
Grade
5 - Correct understanding of flags and signal boards |
| Grade
4 - Correct control of the kart |
|
| Grade
3 - Following the correct line on the circuit |
|
| Grade
2 - Building your race speed and consistency |
|
| Grade

|
| |
| At each stage you
have a safety briefing, use of safety equipment and training by our
Marshal/Instructors. When on the circuit, you are accompanied by a
Marshal/Instructor. |
| |
| The cost of the
session is £20.00 and it must be pre-booked as we limit the number of places
to ensure correct supervision. |
